CS:GO and gambling
How do y'all feel about Valve banning CS:GO gambling sites? In addition, on a scale of 1-10. How pissed are you at TmarTin and gang? I am a firm 10.

After hearing Total Biscuits response to the situation, it makes me feel disgusted.
Not completely surprised though, From the SC2 scene one of my favorite pros was jailed for Match Fixing in Korea. (see 2015 Match-Fixing Scandal - Liquipedia - The StarCraft II Encyclopedia and Top StarCraft 2 champion indicted in second match-fixing probe | Polygon)
I don't think Valve is taking enough action, Cease & Desist does not seem like a complete solution.
In the same vein, I see sports gambling as a legitimate thing, but to what extent can it be controlled and policed seems difficult with such a worldly influence of e sports.

I agree. CS:GO gambling always had a scummy feel to it. I'm still waiting for Faze to get busted for CS:GO Lotto. Banks and rain were way too heavy on CS:GO lotto videos.

I agree. CS:GO gambling always had a scummy feel to it. I'm still waiting for Faze to get busted for CS:GO Lotto. Banks and rain were way too heavy on CS:GO lotto videos.
I'm not going to pretend I've done my homework on the matter and in all honesty until all this started I wasn't even aware sites like CS Lotto existed but here is my two cents on it nonetheless.
That fact that sites like these exist and that people are using them doesn't really bother me. Would I use one myself? Probably not but I don't mind that people are using them. It's just a way to extend the life of a game and chances are that Valve have done nothing about these sites up till now because of this. Like I said I don't know all the details so you're more than welcome to prove me wrong but that's how I see it.
As for the stuff that happened With Tmartin, that I'm not so happy about. It doesn't really effect me so I'm not going to say it's a 10 on the scale probably more like a 7. I can't really call these type of sites victims as they were breaking terms of service in the first place but even so the fact that he has lied about it and basically exploited his fanbase for profit has serious ramifications for the futures of sites like these.
I don't know how much effort Value will put into stopping sites like these from now on but the fact that these sites are now on Valve's radar will have a serious impact on how they can run and even if that is for the best I imagine that there were plenty of people who will have to find a new source of entertainment thanks to the actions of Tmartin and the like.
