How is Persona 5 so long!

I think I've put more time into this game that any other at this point or at least as far as single player games go (I've accumulated a significant amount more in Halo 3, I know that for sure). It seems like it's endless though. I'm actually impressed that a current gen game can be as long as this. I'm currently at 97 hours of play and I've just finished the Okumara story line.

So I think I'm nearing the finish line but I probably still have a while to go.

I think the only other single player game I can think of that I put as much time in was FF8, I recall getting the timer to 99.99 on that and having it reset and change colour but that was a perfection run and I spent so much time farming items and cards not to mention that I imagine a lot of AFK time was included in that timer as the clock still ticked when you have the menu open.

It's a pretty bizarre feeling I'm experiencing right now. I'm still really enjoying the game and wish to progress with it but I just want it to be over so fucking bad as well so I can play something else. I know I could just take a break from it and play something else but I find that when I do that I lose momentum and never end up finishing games and normally when I do this it's because I'm fed up with a game where as now this is not the case.

I've now accumulated a bit of a back long of games because of this and the Steam sale definitely didn't help. Right now my list of games are as follows:

God of War 4, Secret of Mana, Dark Souls remastered, Final Fantasy 15 windows edition, FF14 and Night at the woods. As well as a tonne of other games like Chrono Trigger which I still need to complete.

I just don't have the time for games like that any more. Destiny and painting are my time sink. I play so little else.

I think I've been playing it since March/April. Up to about 115 hours now. I believe I have one more chapter left to go which will likely be another 10 hours at the least along with additional content. The story is picking up now so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm very much looking forward to picking up a game I can get through in a few weeks as opposed to this.

I feel kind of the same way you do about the time but about multiplayer games, I used to love them but now I feel like it's a waste of time playing them unless they're telling a story. I sank so many hours into Halo 3, MW2 and Destiny 1.

I can safely say I've now completed it with over 130 hours on the clock.

Well it's been about a year and I thought I'd follow up. I thought persona 5 was bad, Person 3 is on a whole different level. I got past the 12th Shadow thinking I was on the home stretch only to find there was still two in game months left. I haven't been able to bring myself to continue playing since then and that was ages ago. It's just endless.

So instead I've just been sinking all my hours into Overwatch.
