Posting Goal Added
A banner now shows at the top of either Logical Gamers template that tells how many posts have been made today and the goal for the day -- the average number of posts per day over the last month.

Right now, nothing happens when this goal is met, except the banner so rewardingly displays a 100% full bar.
However, when time allows for it to be programmed, LGG per post will be doubled on days following a met goal.

In the mean time, leave feedback on how to tweak its appearance to your standards.

That sounds like a good plan to start boosting activity a little bit.
LGG still needs to get more popular.

We should try to make some kind of interactive site.

Why did you set it at 173?

Average number of posts per day, I believe he told me.

@Charles: awesome idea time: If an even higher SuperGoal is unlocked, the UG is opened up to the public for one hour the next day

No way. If anything in the UG gets leaked, then it's "opened to the public" from that moment on.

First sentence.

First sentence.

I tend to ignore the first sentence, it's usually some boring introduction with no info...

I am way more blunt than Arti. First sentence will either have the exact news which will later in the post be expanded upon, or it will build what I feel to be a necessary hype beforehand. Either way, I start important and taper off as the post goes on.

You should make it so the Spam forum does not affect the post count.

Done.
#11
It doesn't display on all pages.

Makes me kinda sad.
#12
I figured it'd be too obnoxious to put on all pages. Would you prefer that?
#13
I feel like having an option to hide it could help with it being obnoxious for some people, but i'd definitely prefer it on every page. I don't go to the front page very often.
#14
Added to every page.

Updated to count the last 24 hours instead of resetting at midnight (as that might be discouraging for morning posters).

LGG per post now doubled whenever the number of posts over the last 24 hours is greater than the daily average over the last month (i.e. number on the left >= number on the right).

Also worth noting that the counter does not track admin posts. Anything by me or Arti will not affect the totals.

This is either a great idea or the worst idea. I foresee spam. So much glorious spam.
Probably not today, maybe not tomorrow but some day.
#16
Eh, I don't foresee much spam, maybe a little bit. I think it's a great idea. Oh, and charles, I think it should stay big on the front page but be smaller and a bit more out of the way on all subsequent pages.

We'll see how it goes. It's not like the website has a contract with it to keep it up.
#18
It seems to go down lol.
#19
Really good idea I love it. These new updates are amazing.
#20
You can now swap LGG for bonus posts, to trigger the double LGG reward. Just for funzies.
#21
This is pretty confusing to me. Do you still get 1g/post?
#22
WEll, right now you get double...

You never got 1 LGG per post. LGG is handed out in a calculable but unpredictable (to anyone who doesn't know the algorithm) pattern.

But, you get twice the LGG you would normally get.

How long does it last?

How long does it last?

As long as the meter is above the goal. Forever if everyone is active enough. It counts down slowly (it is the number of posts made in the last 24 hours).
