If you see a spammer trying to gain access to the 25 post forums,

Just negative rep them.

It's always been the case, but I've officially added it to the forums' descriptions. You must have 25 posts, be registered for 3 days, and have non-negative reputation (0 or greater).

Veteran members hold the power to grant or deny new members access to these forums. Merely leave post rep for that person.

Seriously make it 2 weeks or better yet a month. Make them get in here and become part of the community so we can retain people as active participants. Maybe offer access if they submit something useful as well.

I'm pretty new here, but I think C0FFINCASE's idea of maybe expanding the required membership time could help deter spammers from trying to rush into those sections and maybe even figure that there is indeed already quite a bit to devour outside of them available. ^^

I'll up it to 1 week and see how that goes.

I just came out of my one week thing and it was kinda hard to be part of the community when i couldn't post anywhere but the Welcome forums I think you should let people post in other parts of the forums when they are new just not be able to access the downloads for a week or two plus the rep thing.... that's just my two cents though since i just went through it lol.

Those are different metrics. It doesn't take a week to get out of the intro forum. It takes just 24 hours and one post.

The week wait already is a separate requirement just for downloads.

Well damn... I feel stupid now... I wish i would have known that lol. All I remember was trying to post in the forums and it saying I couldn't x_x
