Doot doot, a big welcome to Thomas as a new administrator and inevitable overthrower of LG.

Not sure if this is the right place but.. fwiw this website doesn't render correctly when using DWM on linux, but I am 99% sure I'm the only one using that window manager on this site.

He's back...in black.

If anybody has ideas for changed to LG. Post them!

what will be the new forum topics? modern games and a lesser focus on cheating and more on playing?

Couples suggestions:

Create a forum for all pet sites/avatar sites instead of being so gaia/neopets focused. I know furvilla just came out, and Dappervolk will becoming out eventually.

Maybe less focus on cheating? Since unless we're releasing original content we've got nothing of interest to offer. However, still have a forum dedicated to hacking/scripting/programing. Or maybe even just a known exploits forum?

Forum contest again, since that seemed to make things more active. Maybe member of the month again as well. I wouldn't mind trying to come up with prizes to contribute.

I'd have better suggestions if I knew what kind of demographic you guys wanted to target. Are we going with the focus on LG being a social site? Or do you guys still want to appeal to the niche hacking/scamming/ect market. I suppose both would work really well depending on how it was handled but LG's focus would definitely need to shift to another target and lose it's association with being mostly a gaia oriented site.

Eventually, I want to fork a security research team from LG. I felt it is a natural progression for LG. Lately there is more and more scrutiny on cyber crimes. It's appropriate we shift focus to a legitimate way to hack.

I also want to completely pivot on what games we're focusing on. I know there is still a very small interest in Gaia and Neopets. However, the current gaming industry is much different than when LG was in it's prime. We have failed to adapt and integrate these changes and as a result have lost activity. I am also interested in attempting to capture the fanbase of Youtubers by having dedicated Youtube discussion, and evolving discussion based on what games Youtubers are currently playing.

Yay it's been a while since I've been on this site, but it's great to see another admin. I can already see some changes.

Those all sound like extremely good ideas and it's nice to see LG's future being taken seriously again! I actually think that would be a great direction for the site.

More advertising would be a good thing to bring in some more new members.

Also, focusing on some social medias like twitter, reddit, etc.
Oh and our discord that a few people use every now and then (mostly me and myles)
Oh! And how could I forget? Lots of love!!!
But yeah, well done Thomas, you're doing a smashing job so far.

Thanks, I love getting positive feedback. I'm still working on a plan for advertisements. I considered Adword and FB ads. I just don't think it's worth it for a forum. I'm working with an LG member to put together a plan for advertising. I'm going to work on integrating LG posts to the LG Facebook page.

I have an idea. Now, this might be outside of the realm of stuff that is possible, but I think an API map for Pokemon Go might bring people in. The Pokevision map had over 16million unique vistors a day. If we can get a map programmed using the new API, and have it run just like Pokevision, the site can literally build itself to larger than it has ever been. We could even snag the rocketAPI and code an LG bot for Pokemon go and really bring in the players and people who are interested in that stuff.

I actually really like that idea. I'm going to look into it. I know Pokevision and other similar websites were recently forced to close. However, I have seen some sites leveraging the new API in a similar way.

This would be really cool to see. I don't think I'd be much use helping to develop something like this but I'd be more than happy to help with any aesthetic stuff for it. Would love to see life flowing through this forum once more.
