[Solved]Transparence Question.

Ok, I get that transparency in images is basically the removal of one color. But I've no clue how to do that. I'm trying to make this picture of Joe Perry I'm editing translucent and stick it with some other stuff. I'm doing most of my work in Photostudio 5. Its kind of old, but still good. I can switch over to Gimp or CS4 if those would be easier. Gimp I've used CS4 I've never touched.

Google a tutorial.

Use gimp, it's basic, easy to use, and good for people who are low on space.
Or just try doing what shane said.

CS3 is my favorite... On CS3 and 4 you can use a "Magic Wand" tool to delete "like" colors.

Lower the opacity?

If you mean you want it one color, then just edit the hue/saturation levels or color balance and then lower opacity for a more transparent look.

True, CS3 is much better than CS4.
It's what im currently using..

You Can say Select > Color range

Then adjust the fuzziness...

I know this is in Cs4 and I think its in the other versions...

Try duplicating the layer then editing the copy

Can I see the picture you are talking about, then I may be able to help you more, but the way you are describing it I would suggest messing around with levels, contrast and select color range...
