Ok, I get that transparency in images is basically the removal of one color. But I've no clue how to do that. I'm trying to make this picture of Joe Perry I'm editing translucent and stick it with some other stuff. I'm doing most of my work in Photostudio 5. Its kind of old, but still good. I can switch over to Gimp or CS4 if those would be easier. Gimp I've used CS4 I've never touched.
Can I see the picture you are talking about, then I may be able to help you more, but the way you are describing it I would suggest messing around with levels, contrast and select color range...
