Removing all tobacco items?
Something tells me gaia got sued for advocating smoking >.>

Whats your opinion on it?
#2
Tells me they noticed that half the userbase is under 12 :/
#3
Also says they are trying to corrupt more parents into allowing their kids to spend real money on the site.
#4
This is a chance to hoard tobacco. Can you sell tobacco on the market?
#5
I dont think its equippable anymore, but they say you can sell back to the store for a profit.

Edit : Still equippable, but all tobacco items are soulbound. I can get 13k in store for my long drag.
#6
direct quote from the cig item: A thin cigarette imported from a far away land. They are addictive and bad for your health but make you incredibly sexy. lol I can see why they would want to take it off
#7
I Hope they get sued because they sue alot of other people for no damn reason!

I hate gaia
#8
I doubt that, I think gaia got sued into doing something.

now if we knew how. we can make gaia what we want!
#9
i thought the same thing imeediatley and at the 12 remark the shouldnt have to remove it because of that as technically you have to be 13 years of age to play.
#10
under 12? who cares! gaia can ban them for break age site lol

Wow. Most Kids Already Know About Drugs, Thats The Whole Point Of Drug Awareness Month.
#13
I really hope this is a joke.
Glad I had a cig in my invo.
#14
damn...i was about to hoard long drag today...but gaia removed the cigs..DAMN YOU GAIA haha
#15
That's ridiculous to sue them because they have cigarette items.
It's a damn web site. Get over it.
#16
I definitely think they got sued, or threatened to be sued. :\
#17
you can virutally control gaia if you file a report on them. xD
#18
Thtats rlly lame tht they would do that
#19
I just noticed that, and wanted to point it out!
I think they got sued or something big, why would they remove all the items out of the blue?
#20
This is so ridiculous - politically correct crap - to completely remove all tobacco items is insane

That's 13 years of age without parents permission. I'm sure there's something in the legal part (or if you say under 12 when registering) that says "go get your parents and ask them."
And even if they don't, the average userbase age, even if you round the ages up, is 13. The age required to buy tobacco is 18. Marketing an 18-year-old product that is so disputed (especially by the parents) to 13-year-olds is a stupid idea. To analogize, pornography is a produce for 18-year-olds. It's the same as having "porn magazine: equippable item for your avatar to jerk off to while nobody is watching"

Acually it wont let you make an account younger than 13.
Also If an old acc is younger than 13 it will lock you out until you turn 13.

thats exactly what it means

Freedom of Speech... and freedom of personal choice... :|

Gaia didn't FORCE kids to take the tobacco... :|

Anyways, why are we still freaking talking about this topic? :| Who cares. This is just a tangent to get all of you posts. Drop it.

Obviously, most countries at the moment are aware of the health dangers associated with smoking. Gaia is just trying to advocate its 'Safe for children' image, so more parents'll spend money on digital items.
Clever plan actually :)

But they dont usually ban a person for being below the age
i remember 2 yrs bak(12) i entered the date as a year year younger
Posted on my pro dat i was 12 never got banned till i strted boting :D
#31
I think its a bad idea, lots of people (mainly noobs) like the cig.
#32
They probably had the common sense about children being young.
#33
Thats stupid cause they have to 13 its not gaia's fault then its the kids fault or the parents for letting the kids go on the site.
