Welcome Back, Tobacco!
I wanted to apologize for the frustration and anger caused by the tobacco item removal. We've read through the feedback and concerns from all of you, and we wanted to let you know about some changes:

•Tobacco items are back in shops.
•The items are no longer soulbound.
•If you sold yours to the shops, we're granting them back.

The motivation to ban tobacco items did not come from wanting to take away items, but from a desire to do something positive. Obviously we did a lousy job explaining the motivation, and our decision to act was awfully hasty. The end result was that we did not take the core values of you, the Gaia user, into consideration.

I'm sorry that we messed up, so in return we're undoing this as best we can. In the future we'll be more cautious and open regarding any actions that might impact any of you in a negative way.

One of the first decent things I've seen them do in a long time now. Looks like justice does exist on Gaya.

It's hilarious that they got such a negative response. I'm surprised they changed it back though, despite the response. Now we know gaia is all about the money :) (*Even though it's been pretty obvious for awhile*)

What the hell is everyone's problem?...

Gaia tried to support the young population of Gayaonline by getting rid of a substance illegal for them in U.S., why the fuck are you guys saying Gaya is a group of pussies and shit?...

Fact of the matter is, they tried to do the right thing, everyone revolted, it wasn't a big enough thing to matter that much so they just gave it back. The end.

I mean I can agree with the though process illegal and such in real life but Gaia is fantasty. The items are fantasy - if you want to look like a smoking, drinking, sex fiend in your fantasy go for it. I mean if everything is illegal inside and outside of fantasy then the world isn't fun anymore.

Um yeah. The first sentence of this made sense... until you went to explain yourself... then it appeared that you are the retarded person here...

Read my post before if you don't understand this shit. Their tactic made perfect sense, just because you think it's retarded and your ideas are worse doesn't make IT retarded, now does it?

And, i did read your post.
Just because kids see gaia has tobacco items
does not mean they are going to go out and
smoke.

And gaia has Sex Related items too,
if they take off Tobacco items,
theres no reason why any other
item that is related to Sex/Drugs
Shouldn't be taken off.

Also, my opinion is:

They needed to look good so they got rid of tobacco items, with the full intention of giving them back later with that excuse, giving them the illusion that they did something good.

Seriously, since when has gaia actually listened to suggestions and changed something they did? I've never seen it happen, like with the new toolbar and the footer and everything else...

My thoughts exactly. Someone is apparently getting on their ass, so they had to attempt something.

Sadly enough I know many people who equip tobacco items because they say "oh yea, I'm fucking sexy now". IMO- should have kept them off and let the people rage. Retarded children do not need things such as this. <3

But hey, it's all for the money. What the hell does it matter? Happy customers = goldmine

I really like that they brought them back. Funny how tobacco got so much attention yet Gaia still has lots of sexualized items, items with blood and gore, weapons, and drinking items, yet no one got rid of them.

I also love the new poses on the Cig. They made me laugh.
