New security measures.

So gaia is instituting some new security measures. One of them being that when you change an email it sends a verification email to the old address. The second measure being that users get a notice about any new ips accessing that account, however its an optional feature.

So what does this mean to the gaia account market?

Obviously now the email used to lock down an account has to be traded with said account.

Y'alls thoughts?

I was under the impression it only sent emails to the user to let them know, doesnt really say hey click here and you can stop this

So they're basically giving you the opinion a Rank User(Dev, Admin, Mods, etc) would have. Shouldn't be that bad.

Yeah, the IP verification has been in place for higher ranks for a long time. I'm interested to see this now. It's going to render phishing useless. Anyone with a lot of gold is usually paranoid. Old accounts will remain unaffected. I'm excited. This means I'll get to see you guys doing something other than phishing junk. I may contribute to that. Scamming isn't my thing.

The way I understand it, you will be getting a notification email rather than a confirmation email. I think Gaia recognizes that younger users don't always use their email or even keep track of it and the likelihood that emails will be compromised of some users, and so on.
