Need help cracking accounts

Hi, sorry I keep making threads, but no one else is xD
I want to find out how to crack accounts or if anyone can help me and what info is needed to do it.

I found around 5 really old accounts that have a lot of good items and haven't been logged into in a long time.

1.) Cracking accounts is practically impossible. I'm not sure if it still is, you could talk to MattSmith about that.
2.) Cracking accounts takes an EXTREMELY long time. Are you looking to bruteforce the password or do a dictionary attack against it? Either could take weeks or months, and a bruteforce could take years.
3.) Accounts that haven't been logged on in a long time are BAD targets. If suddenly someone logs onto a super old account that hasn't been logged on to in forever and starts trading items around, Gaia will immediately get suspicious and start banning anyone who buys, sells, or receives the items.

On number 3, to stop any banning from happening would I have to start a rigged giveaway, or make the account seem active again?

this is completely possible. just not very effective.

although the technique I use requires the account to be a known active user.

He probably means its impracticle to bruteforce a single user's password. The best bruteforce attack is when you check lots of accounts for simple passwords. Trying to crack a single account can be next to impossible if the user just selects a semi-decent password.

Ohhh.
I've looked into hiring hackers, but since it's hackers, I have no idea how to check how legit anyone is.
Because I've made a list of old (also not logged into for 1+ years) rich accounts, so I wouldn't have a problem with anyone reporting right away.

So if I made an even bigger list, and checked those for simple passwords I would have more luck?

Let's put it this way. If you checked one million accounts for the password 'penguin', you'd probably get a few hundred. If you checked a specific account for a million different passwords, you'd be lucky to get it.

Checking millions of accounts for one password is risky, though.
I think they can pick up on the attack, for one. I think they have some thing that can detect how many login attempts are made from a certain IP address. To sucessfully do this attack, you'd need to make a program that tries to log into a certain amount of accounts with a password, switches to a different proxy, does it again, and keeps switching around proxies like that. and we haven't even gotten STARTED on captchas yet. For all I know, you may only be able to log in like once or twice with a wrong password on an account before the captcha pops up, which would require an INSANE amount of proxies. Tens of thousands.

That's a terrible plan.

A better one would be to find a point of weakness, rather than play to their strengths.

You mean like the email exploit? Is that still shoved in UGG? I remember the email lists in the programming section, but is the exploit still usable?

Using the time that Aleena used to Re-write gaia pages and access admin panel to learn about this stuff, is better than bruteforcing.
