I used to buy Gaia cash, I had spent like $200 on it. I finally broke my addiction to it by learning how to vend though, haha.

I never liked the thought of spending real money to get fake money 
GC is a waste unless its on rigs to make enough to vend. Even then it's not really worth it

As far as I know there are offers now so you can sign up to Netflix and get like 3,000 gaia cash. You save money and get more gaia cash.

I don't always hack, but when I do, I get databases full of game currency. (Just kidding, I wouldn't consider myself a hacker).
You realize the appeal of hacked gold isn't as fun as you thought when you get 200m+ accounts banned every few weeks because gaia hates your IP and you can't be assed to use a proxy.

OP: GC is only worth it when you buy EI's. And even if you do it's a gamble.
GC isn't typically worth it at all ONLY BECAUSE you can buy gold from forums for 1/5th the price. The issue is that most people sell "active" gold which is gold taken from active hacked/scammed accounts. This creates an almost certainty youll be banned for buying gold most of the time. The idea why it isnt worth it though is because you could buy the same EIs on the marketplace with gold you purchased for 1/5th the price.
(Not agreeing that it is or isn't stupid).

Some people don't want to get banned.
Like if I absolutely HAD TO spend money on Gaia, I'd rather buy GC and get 1/5 of the value than live under constant fear of getting banned.
I mean, no matter how careful you are it's just a matter of time, one little slip, wether it was by our own mistake or someone else.
At least if I buy GC I can keep it and I know for a fact I can't get banned unless I do something stupid.
I used to just do those surveys and such for the gaia cash and could get like 300-500 in a few minutes for free.
