I hacked an account and forgot to use a proxy.

But I secured everything(new email, pw, name, etc) and the guy doesnt seem too smart(one of those avvies you see all the time in rally)

Am I still screwed for my main if he reports?

Most likely. They'll flag the IP and notice when you login on your main.

Gaia rarely ever does anything by IP. Some of the most influential phishers on this forum have never used a proxy. They only flag your IP for repeat offenses - 2 accounts banned for different hacking cases within a week or something. The only thing they will track you by is cookies, which you should be clearing often. Dont trade anything to your main and if he reports it, you should be clean.

So If I logged out and cleared my cookies, Im in the clear?

There's a chance that you can still get ban, but yea dont worry about it.
They do keep a log of the account and they can check the IP's primary account.

i dont think there gonna get you, just stay how you are right now for like a few weeks.

When I was young and stupid, I never ever used a proxy, never secured, and only had one step between my main and the scammed account. I took 50-100 accounts before taking a break for a few months. When I came back I took about 50 more before I got banned.

Of course, this was 2 or more years ago, so gaia may have gotten smarter, but I would say you're okay.

I never used proxies. lol i learned my lesson when like 15 of my accs got chain banned.

That just speeds up client speed, not the internet itself.

this is what is gonna happen. since he is a noob he is gonna report you, so this is what you do, just dont log onto your account for a while. it will be safe if a login from your IP isnt logged for a while. next time you login, which should be about a week later, use a proxy, and then make that your proxy for every time you log on for about a month. if he still reports you, then yoiu should be safe so long as you dont log on through your main IP for a while.

and if you do get banned, then he just got lucky, and your luck ran out for that hack.

If I get a chain ban will it affect them too?
or just the ones created on the IP?(i.e mine)

Also, any idea of like, when to expect it if at all?

damn i never use a proxy thanks thats why i lose millions of gold ever other week XD

There's a higher chance there gonna just track the items you sent away (if you gifted any) and once they hit the end in a gifted item, then they'll check the IPs to match them and possibly ban. Just do what's always recommended in securing guides and leave that account without moving anything for a week if your impatient.

Never underestimate those "Not too smart guys", cause when they notice that one of their coincidental favorite items is missing, they'll start wondering if something's wrong, then they'll look for a mod, then that mod will start to investigate.

So, if you want the account THAT badly, don't totally change the account, change the email by adding some numbers to it, and LEAVE THE AVVIE THE SAME OR GHOST IT. Do the same thing for the PW, just add a complex string of numbers, and have someone transfer the items and secure them from another location. (Eliminates the "Just one person did it" reason.) And never change the name of an account to where it stands out as suspicious, and you wanna log the account yourself and do it at night. (Secure the items at least, so no one isn't really on to notice things are missing.)

But to stay on topic, yeah, you fucked yourself on this one.

It is really random time, at least when I used to crack i could go 2 months without cracking and get a ban, or I could crack an account and within a few hours have a ban

Change your ip and don't go on gaia for a week or so
