Cellphone recommendations

After selling my white iPhone 4 on eBay, I'm looking to get a new cellphone. Currently I am looking at the Samsung Captivate for AT&T, because I want to avoid getting an iPhone again (currently have an iPhone 3G). So yeah, any recommendations from you all? Please avoid recommending a Windows Phone, I do not want a Windows Phone. Any other Droid recommendations would be nice as well.

General rule of thumb is to stay away from Samsung phones. I know you're going to hate to hear this, but I'd wait it out for a Windows Phone 7 device you like. It's the OS that shows the most promise. It's smooth, fast, feature full, and has over 10k apps which is a number growing at a significant rate. Now that Microsoft and Nokia have teamed up, windows phone 7 is going to be even better than it already is. Android OS just lacks smoothness and the polished feel that iOS and WinP7 have. Android OS also has huge fragmentation and a lack of standardization which translates to taking a risk that 1) you won't get OS updates until months after it's released 2) some applications won't run correctly on your device. However, if you must get an Android phone (HIGHLY advise against it) get the Motorola Atrix 4G.

Before my iPhone, the only phones that I had were Samsung phones and they all were great to me. Blegh, I really do not want a Windows Phone...if anything, I'd get an iPhone 3GS before I get a Windows Phone mainly due to the fact that I'd rather have the Mac compatibility with my MacBook over Windows difficult compatibility.

Microsoft has released the sync utility for Mac. So you can sync music, calenders, contacts etc. You aren't really missing out of any functionality. But like I said, wait until there is a phone you like.

The new Samsung android phones have a cheap feel in my experience. Not to mention that the Samsung skin for android looks like a Fisher Price toy. The thing that would solve 70% of Android's problems is manufacturers not feeling the need to skin to OS beyond belief.

Also, why did you sell your iPhone 4? At this moment it's one of the best, if not the best phone on ATT.

I actually have the A google phone.
The G2; I like it personally, it has a lot of cool features.
I've never had an issue with it, but I just got it in .

I have the Samsung focus, wp7. Works great. Far exceeds my expectations. The HD7 Is good too.

I have an iPhone 3G. My friend broke his iPhone 4, so I just repaired it and converted it to white in order to sell it and make a profit.
