Sinza, want to be a hacker? Give up trying to be a hacker altogether and learn to program. Gradually, "hacking" will come to you. And never publicly proclaim that you're "learning hacking" and try to refrain from using the term "hacker" as much as possible. It's an ambiguous term mainly used by script kiddies.

He's been programming in C++ for around three years, lol. He's asked me to teach him a bit of computer security, but I really haven't gotten around to it. Mostly just said something in an excited tone, he goes "uhhh, what?" and I explain the terminology and what happened to him. That's pretty much all he's learned so far.
FYI, what I just told him is the most vital "hacking" lesson of them all. If you don't follow it accordingly, you will simply never be a "hacker".

Thats a good point o: I do "hacking" simply for exploration purposes. I enjoy holding information in my hands, as you've discovered before. This may be anything from maps of internal servers to usernames and passwords to internal files. I just like having info, and I find trying to get it to be interesting and fun. I don't hack for money, greed, need, or spite/hate. I hack because of curiosity.

Yea, I never really thought about that but it's true, thanks for the insight....and no I never say anything like that in public.

I say something like "Doooooood I just found out gaia's registration page is susceptible to a XSS attack, so we could steal someones SID (Session ID) and then log in as them, and then just sell all of their items to the store and ruin their life. Actually oh wait, they'd have to be logged out to reach the reg page so never mind." and you go "....?" for a few seconds, and then come to a realization about what I'm talking about. And you generally understand what I'm basically talking about, but not much deeper than that until I explain it or you figure it out yourself.

Hacking accounts are easy, hacking ingeneral is such a wide term. It all depends on what you mean by hacking.
