Guys, I wanted to make an indie game and am totally surprised by the fact that it never saw fruition.

This is definitely an unlikely circumstance.
#5
What ever you say Alex.

How about you guys add more sections to this website, Such as Warrock, COD, Cross Fire, etc... And do game hacks for them get a few coders to make VIP hacks spam games get site traffic up again.. Charge for VIP hacks make some $$$ and badaboom LG will be live again like old 2007 times

That might be a good idea. Fuck kids actually PAY for aim bots. Maybe we should start making bots or programs for other games. I suggest maybe targeting things like COD, Counterstrike, Terra, WoW, ect. I mean sure our user base is probably going to turn into a bunch of "u gib me bot code faget" but it might revive our site a bit.

Edit: As far as the RPG idea I don't know if we have the resources when it comes down to it. : <
I mean if we make an RPG and we don't want to just be V-bulletin stuff we'd need artists and programmers.

You should read "The beginners guide to creating online forums and communities". I read the book, and it actually is extremely informative and shows all of the key points as to how and why LG is dying.

Adding more sections won't bring more users. If anything, it will bring LESS users because they see a ton of empty forum sections. We could just make a general gaming section where you can post about any games you want to, and it would be extremely active instead of having all of these tiny little dumb subforums that no one visits

I already have an RPG engine. :)

Except I'm definitely not wasting using it on a game based on LG.

There is actually a book on this? I thought you had to learn by experience.

But it's definitely true, nonetheless. Adding more forums give the impression the website is dead. You start with very few, very broad forums and then expand beyond them as they become too popular. If the "Video Games" forum is flooded with discussion and half Halo topics, you make a Halo subforum. And so on and so forth.

I'd say LG probably has too many forums right now for its activity level. I only use the Junkyard anyway.

Exactly, this this this. We need to mash all of the video games forums into one, for now. The Gaia Online forum and the Junkyard are the only two forums I post in. Even the UG kind of died, compared to before. Either that's a good thing, meaning we're making more and more data open, or it means that we're getting less and less UG-worthy stuff.

I wasn't lying when I said I'd make a good admin. :P

I've been doing forum administration for longer than I've been doing programming.

Not a programmer. / Never programmed anything before.

Damn son!

So longer than never, according to your signature hahaha.

But yeah, we really need to prune up LG a bit. Start like it's a new forum again, and as we slowly start gaining members again, start adding back forums. Also, we need to stop talking about stuff to do and actually DO it. Like for those bots and trainers and stuff that people recommended we make - instead of recommending it, why not just make one and release it? :P
#17
Oh yeah. I'm totally not a programmer.

I've been doing forum administration for longer than I've not been a programmer. Which I started not doing when I was 12. I have no clue when I picked up administration. I guess 10 or 11.
#18
Coolioo. But yeah, we really need some activity :/ Are any admins besides Arti even left? :P
#19
I don't know, but he said he isn't promoting anyone, even though I totally dominated that poll that said I should admin.

Something about no point in staffing anyone until some [obscenely large project that will never be finished] was finished. I called him out on not finishing it, but I guess at the time he was still in the phase where he thought he would. BUT LOOK WHERE WE ARE NOW, ARTI. LOOK WHERE WE ARE NOW.

EDIT: Now I remember why I didn't want to effort. This place is way too easy to profit from, and I wouldn't get any profits. Le fuck that.

GAMEchief is no programmer. To put it bluntly he's a shit-tier web developer and a bigoted idiot who hardly knows anything.

Forum administration might be a different story though.
#21
P.S. If he became an Admin or staff of any form I would kill myself and personally quit this forum altogether.

Just my two cents for what it's worth.
#22
I lol'd.

I don't think there should be any more staff, I just think the current staff should listen to what we have to say, because it could save LG and make it less of a graveyard.

Yes, see, this guy knows. I've never programmed anything in my life.

So does the suicide come before or after the abdication?

This guy knows what's up.

He read a book about it and everything.

A book.

Nice triple-post, mongoloid.

Definitely admin material here.

Really? That's pretty cool to be honest. I understand not wanting to "waste" it though.

@Flare: I more so meant redirecting our focus to those kinds of games vs gaia.

I know but I'm staying everyone keeps recommending that, so why don't some people actually step up and do something? :\

I thought everyone on LG knew about it.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=V5PDWV2mcco

Runs in HTML4, so compatible with anything IE6 and up, so pretty much every OS in existence since Windows XP and a shit ton of OS's that came before that, with or without flash or Java installed.

But ain't got no ideas worth making into a game. Or the graphics talent.

I will probably scrap it and start over from scratch again with a Chrono Trigger or 3D style engine. Dunno. Oh well.

I bet you didn't even make this yourself lol.

I think that's what you said last time.

But okay.
