Earliest memories
Learned today that I have four memories from when I was 1 year old.

Apparently the average age for first memory is 3.5 years, and the hippocampus isn't even formed until 2 years, which is probably why such things as size, distance, color, and space are so heavily distorted in my first memories.

And yours?

I had memories inside the womb.

The earliest thing I can remember is my first day of school.

Hypothalamus*
Also, I don't think it's related to memories...
As for my earliest memory, I can't remember shit.

My only memory from my entire childhood is that we had green carpet at my old house. I can't even remember what I did a week ago, without some type of prompt or hint by someone else. If you just asked me "Last monday, what did you do?" I wouldn't know at all, unless you went "Didn't you do this?" THEN it would all come flooding back to me haha.

I try to learn so many different things that my brain pushes out useless knowledge like that. I feel like my brain has gone into a "deep memory" mode, where things that I learn are filed away for life, but so are normal memories, so it's extremely hard to remember them without needing them/having a small prompt.

I remember when I was a kid, moving out of one of the apartments that me and my family used to live in.
I was watching King Kong at the age of 3-4 and was drinking a classic Coca Cola in a bottle.

No, hippocampus. This isn't the subject you should try to correct me on.

I have distinct memory about as far as I was 2-3 years old. Anything further back is fuzzy.

Sure. But note that by distinct "memory" I mean more than one memory. I almost have an entire body of memories dating back since that time.

I remember at the top of my head that I always used to love wearing this one shirt with a weird bike decoration on it. I remember I've always liked professional wrestling even when I didn't completely understand it (accordingly I used to play with little dolls or figures and pretend they're wrestlers). Not anymore though, stuff is completely staged (and yes, it took me until I was about 13-14 to finally realize that). But I'm not close to any of those ages anymore.

I remember when I'd crawl around and whatnot. I was reckless. I also remember that I failed miserably the first times I attempted to ride a bicycle or anything like that. But that's all probably natural rather than "distinct." I just happen to remember the exact scenarios to some degree hence distinct.

I probably can't remember nearly everything since then, but I'm sure that I have more than a good few memories.
