Anyways, chief, what're your thoughts on hosting LG game servers? Possibly gmod rp and build server? Custom rp and build lua backend of course.

Not gaia either, but your idea was pretty cliche. Private servers won't get us much farther.

unintelligible is right, if private servers WERE hosted their best use would just be for members of the forum to hang out. That would be effective if the forum was bigger to begin but not as a selling point to bring in new members.

Not completely true, with a custom rp and custom build, and a bit advertising, you can gain thousands of new and active members easily. It just has to be a new, and nice, game mode.

I'm administrated a forum that hosted game servers -- Garry's Mod being on in particular -- so I can say first hand... no. They are too expensive. To succeed, the forum relied on monthly donations from its members. It received it, but that's not something I want to push for on LG. It's not like we even get donations now, so we surely can't start saying, "Hey, either donate or we close down."
No cash, no servers.

If someone wants to host a server themselves and share with the community, I'll gladly officialize that server. But that's about as far as that idea is feasible.

It does indeed require cash, and I'd offer to host but my up speeds cant handle much..

As far as my connections extend, I could see if I could partner with another game hosting provider, of which I know two. But I doubt it and would rather not.

Gmod server would be fucking badass. A freebuild server would be fun, never played any RP servers though. What are they like? I'm obsessed with Jailbreak right now.
