I ran back in 7th grade. I was 3rd best in my grade, but I had to stop because I had [then undiagnosed] asthma. All I knew is I couldn't find the lap without nearly passing out, and never finished below 3rd in any competition. I wish I'd known at the time, as I would have probably been able to pull some firsts and attend national races. But, I no longer run. Natural runner, though. I've walked on my toes my whole life, so my calves are fucking boss. I can rep 300lbs with them about 30 times. But too lazy to run anymore.

I have run most of my life and I currently run Collegiate cross country and track. Though I've only run a half marathon and hundreds of 5K's and 8k's the preparation for a full marathon is just an extended version of the half training.

Make sure you keep your mileage up and if you maintain a something like 13 min mile average you're pretty solid for a first full marathon.
