I think it's worth watching. Both series only have 3-4 seasons.
Avatar definitely holds up, you should watch it. As Coffin said, it doesn't feel that long. If anything, at least watch the last airbender.
Interesting, that still seems like too many episodes to me but I might give it a watch at some point; if only, just too see what I've been missing out on.
Clearly not if you're still watching SAO...
Haha, not directed at me but SAO is like my guilty pleasure, the urge to watch the new the new episode each week this season was pretty strong but I managed to fight it so I can binge it when it's finished.
It was the show that got me hooked on anime in general after all. For the longest time I was worried about rewatching the original two seasons because I might realize how shit it was, and while I could definitely see that, I still enjoyed it on rewatch so say what you will about me. That being said there are definitely better isekai out there, even if they are over-saturating the market. I'm excited for more Log horizon for example.
There's also meant to be more Kings Avatar soon too, though I'm unsure when either will air because of the pandemic.
It amused me looking back to the start of this thread, in my first post I claimed that I don't watch much anime at all, which was true, then next post says I watched SAO and now look at me. I'm an anime watching fiend!
I mentioned it in my last post but I'm really enjoying "From the new world" (Shinsekai yori) at the moment, I'm glad I put off watching Vinland for it because I'm loving the world building. I'm not even half way in and I have so many questions. I watched the first episode last year and decided not to bother because it seemed to slow but I'm glad to say that it definitely picks up pretty rapidly after that.
