Personally I see a lot of potential for the franchise. But they're honestly doing the same shit over and over and over.
They can make use of the Wii and its limitless DLC potential as well as the fact that they can alter the entire Pokemon universe. Well, not alter, however they can make a separate one. An idea that I absolutely love is legit Pokemon hunters, that would be the equivalent of the monster hunters in the monster hunter franchise. Taking a more violent approach while maintaining that age old feeling of collecting rare Pokemon. I think that not only would it completely revamp the franchise, however it would draw more followers. For a long while Gamefreak and Nintendo have been working together on the franchise and I really doubt that they would have a hard time talking Capcom int
rking on such a project, but it would give the series such a mega overhaul into something that would appease today's audience of young and old players.
While there are many copyright issues etc. that would need to be covered by said companies, it is possible. I would so fucking elated if this were to happen. The only major problem that I see is, unfortunately, Nintendo's CEO. Satoru Iwata, has been and most likely will continue to be, a long time advocate of child friendly games. It's been hard enough getting Resident Evil on the DS. The combination of Monster Hunter and Pokemon, would be even harder.
I've always been a die hard fan of pokemon, and unfortunately I'm dying, hard, I have like, three full magazines of 3inch armor penetrating bullets pumped through me.
Aside from Monster Hunter being a multi-company franchise, i.e. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and Pokemon being a single company franchise, i.e. Nintendo, I believe that it could be worked out so it is solely released on the Wii. It would not only boost sales of the now $100.00 console, however I believe sales of the game itself would be potentially record breaking if given enough coverage by popular gaming magazines. While maintaining the popularized pokemon 3D style that was showcased in Pokemon : Battle Revolution, with a few revamps from our friends at Capcom of course. However if the game is released multi-console. The sales for the game would simply explode. Xbox and Ps3 players would have a free-for-all. Not only can the game be turned into an MMORPG for consoles, WHICH CAN BE PULLED OFF, however it can also be made into something challenging, like world at warcraft? I hear that thing is a bitch. I.e. in game, you can't just run up to a Kyogre like it's a puntable cat and jam your spear in it's blowhole, and watch it suffocate like it was all in a days work. Make it challenging!
Another possibility for younger players would be parental controls, such as friendly language used in the inventory, and the ability to turn off blood and gore, if it is offered in the first place. When I say friendlier language I refer to "Debrained Pikachu Skull", instead it could simply be a "Pikachu Skull" or "Pikachu Head". Child friendly
I'd love to hear you guys' thoughts on the subject matter, try not to tear it apart, if you don't like it, state why, improvements, etc.
