I'm looking for your opinions, what do you think is better, a pair of headphones or earbuds?
I'm leaning towards headphones, considering that they can virtually block out all exterior noise, they're comfortable, and produce better quality music. I understand that they may not be as portable, but when you're at home sitting around with nothing better to do, and perhaps your speakers are broken/someone's nearby and you don't want to interrupt what they're doing with your music, then I say headphones are superior.
Earbuds, portable, terrible quality, and iirc, you're more likely to get a brain tumor with them.
Opinions? I don't want replies like "O MAN SPEAKERS PWN DOS THANGZ", I want your opinion about which one of these TWO options is superior.
I always thought that earbuds were terrible, there's something about them that simply irritates me.
Also, in addition to my original post, despite the fact that earbuds may be portable, headphones can be too, as long as you're not attempting to stuff everything into your pocket.
Headphones, Djs. Earbuds don't stay in and lack the quality I crave. Plus if I've got Djs around my neck cranked everyone can listen and they don't blow out or sound terrible like buds.
I personally like headphones better. The sound quality is better, they don't fall out constantly, you don't get that feeling like you've listened to something too loud as often, and they don't hurt as much. However if you listen to a lot of things while laying down then you need earbuds because the head phones get in the way a lot. Plus Headphones break a lot easier when shoved into back packs or purses and such (* T_T I've sadly learned this the hard way*)

I used to have a set of DJ headphones, eventually I broke them and had to move on .. The most depressing day of my life.

I have to agree with that, but not many people will use headphones when lying down, they're more likely to use speakers (or simply not listen to music at all). However, if the situation came where you needed to lie down with music isolated from other sounds, yes, earbuds would be better.
I'm not sure about most headphones, but I know for a fact that some skullcandy headphones can fold in so they don't break as easily, kind of makes them flimsy, though. So it really comes down to whether you want quality or portability, right?
Earbuds all the way. My earbuds have always lasted longer than my headphones, I've been through 2 pairs of skullcandy headphones. =/
Well, I guess there's the down-side of headphones, because they're so big. I'm assuming the larger they are, the more likely you are to break them? Anyway, I suppose earbuds are less likely to break due to physical damage, but for most people, they'll break due to blowing out a circuit or something.
My earbuds are perfect. They block out all other sound, and stay in my ears. I think it just takes some time to find a decent pair. The only bad thing about them is that after a few hours my ears hurt. >.>;;
I prefer headphones though; the ones that block out all other sound (like Bose). The only bad thing about them is that they can be a pain when laying down and getting comfy.
Well it depends on what kind of headphones you are looking at.
But IMO I personally like Skull Candy Earbuds. They work really well and have great feedback.
