Bumptop [Desktop]

I wanted to discuss what your favorite desktop customizers or applications are.
The one I"m using right now is Bump Top (It's amazing if you've got a lot of shit you want organized, and it's a neat new concept) and when I'm not using Bump Top, I like using Rainmeter.

Here is my desktop set for both:

BUMPTOP (My Desktop right now)


RAINMETER (My old Rainmeter desktop)

(Rainmeter with Madotate)




(Custom windows media center (full-screen desktop version)


What is your personal preference, if you use one?

Right click>Properties>Appearance

Seriously, my computer can't even run WMP visualizations at full speed.

You need to seriously upgrade your RAM or something (if that's the problem)
What Windows version are you using?

Woah. Bumptop looks sick.
I found some program that changed my computer's appearance to look like windows 7.
It didn't run that great though. I just went back to Google images after that. D;

You can run Bumptop on Windows XP and up.
It's really sick The ultimate organizer. If you'd like to see it animated, here's a video. It's my #1 preference for organization and just general use. I use Rainmeter


(That video is with the touch-screen. It works the same on a desktop, just instead of your fingers you use your mouse)

How would that work with a mouse though?
Fanning it out etc, is that a right click function?

I think so. Basic Bumptop doesn't have that feature, but you can do it in pro by just clicking and swiping to the side to fan. I'm getting the crack for bumptop pro. I can link if you'd like

You should buy another stick of ram. It's not too pricey.
You could probably get a 1 gig stick for 20 bucks, maybe less.
And they're fairly easy to install. Just have to be careful with static.

I'll have to get around to that. Not sure where I could buy it cheap around here.
Anyway, I can't get the weather or music trk on Rainmeter.

That all depends on your connectiont the internet and the internet. Mine have stopped working on me a couple times too because I can't connect through rainmeter sometimes to get feed

@defkault: I have better rainmeter desktops, but they all show my IP address and I'm too lazy to sensor it lol. Im pumped to see yours.

Lost my copy when I switched Windows versions.

I had one forever ago on my school laptop, but I never had Pro (which I have now). I'll give you the pro version if you want it.

Yeees I'll gladly admit I love the games I used to play as a kid.
And thank you, I enjoy finding new and interesting odd things that generally add onto the huge list of shit I don't NEED but want.
And yeah, I like Rainmeter better, but Bumptop is great for organization. =) It runs pretty large though if you've got an excessive amount of animations going on.

@Adam: That's Windows 7 with Rainmeter and Stardock, and I used WindowsBlinds on the task bar

Cool desktops, but what's the point if you're gonna cover it with maximized applications?

haha. because it looks a lot better and is a lot easier to organize than cluttering your desktop with useless/dead icons, folders, etc.

It looks better, but for someone who has programs opened across the screen all the time, it's not worth the time trying to familiarize oneself with the software and trying out all the customization options. Besides, Windows Vista/7 already has a desktop gadget thing that I never use.

yeah I never use it too. It actually takes up a lot more memory than rainmeter does alone.
